Grafiti-IDAI graffiti detector for local councils

Artificial intelligence software against graffiti vandalism. It identifies authors, matches across cities and produces certified handwriting expert reports to build cases for continuing offences. For police forces and local councils.

01 · What it solves

From graffiti
to case resolution.

Grafiti-ID suggests authorship, and that demands more safeguards than an ordinary report: every match is checked by a person before it goes out, the handwriting expert report is signed by an expert with a qualified digital signature, and the system is documented under ISO 42001, with traceable decisions and data kept in Europe.

01
AI biometric identification
Deep learning and computer vision extract tags, strokes, pressure and spray angles from each piece of graffiti to link it to an author, even with incomplete tags or deliberate variations.
02
Nationwide cross-city matching
Automatic search for matches across the whole country. Identifies itinerant graffiti writers active in several municipalities, groups authorship and reveals movement patterns.
03
Certified handwriting expert reports
Each match is validated by a professional Handwriting Expert with a detailed score breakdown. Reports with a PAdES digital signature and TSA timestamp, ready for court.
04
Continuing offence against property
Combines individual instances of damage (which on their own would be minor offences) into a single case file for a continuing offence. A cryptographic chain of custody admissible in court.
02 · How it works

AI that multiplies
your team's capacity.

Automates hours of manual investigation. The officer captures; the AI analyses, compares and groups. Your team focuses on deciding, not searching.

Biometric signature of the stroke

Curvature, thickness, attack angles, proportions, ligatures, spray dispersion. Interpretable features, not a black box.

Deep learning and computer vision

Re-identification of the author across different pieces of graffiti, even when the tag is incomplete or deliberately altered.

Geospatial clustering

Grouping graffiti by authorship and area to uncover groups, map crews and reveal hotspots and modus operandi.

Auditable, verifiable weightings

Composite score = weighted sum of 5 categories: geometry, dynamics, idiosyncrasy, spray profile and visual similarity. Versioned and approved by a committee.

App, camera or police software

The officer photographs the graffiti from a phone, a vehicle-mounted camera or integrated police software. GPS, date and time are added automatically.

AI governance

A system documented under ISO 42001, with traceable decisions, human oversight of every match and data sovereignty in Europe.

Cross-city matching

The same tag is searched for in graffiti logged by other municipalities, to support wider-ranging investigations.

On the ground

From the wall to the case file
in minutes.

The officer photographs the graffiti and the AI does the rest: it analyses the tag, looks for matches with other graffiti and groups all the damage by the same author into a case file with its accumulated cost.

The capture with AI analysis

Georeferenced photo, detected tag and author match with a detailed score in seconds, from the officer's phone.

9:41 CASE FILE 2026-041 Author A-113 13 pieces · 3 neighbourhoods ACCUMULATED COST OF DAMAGE 18.400 € Signed expert report · PAdES ✓ Continuing offence · art. 263 CP Export report

The author's case file

Map of all the attributed graffiti, accumulated cost of the damage and a signed expert report to support the continuing offence.

03 · Use cases

For those who
investigate damage to public property.

Local Police and Criminal Investigation Police

Investigation of recurring criminal damage with authorship identification and expert evidence.

City Councils with historic heritage

Protection of historic centres, monuments and listed heritage sites (BIC) against recurring vandalism. Financial impact fully traced.

Public transport companies

Identifying the authors of graffiti on fleets (buses, metro, trains) and passing on the cost of the damage.

04 · Compliance and architecture

Naming an author
means backing it up.

Grafiti-ID meets the main Spanish public sector standards and integrates with the corporate systems you already use.
